Aerial View of Chur

We seem to have dried up! Not a problem, as what we have up is an excellent record of our holiday, and I'm sure we have enjoyed sharing our photo-memories. I have a few more to add; I waited so as not to duplicate what others were posting. Here is a composite of Google Earth images of Chur, with our main spots marked. Thought it might be interesting to see just how all those back alleys actually connect! Don't forget, to see the original full size picture, double click the thumbnail on the blog page.

The Rathaus, Chur

Taken on Bank Holiday Monday; by 8 o'clock the next morning this area was filled with bikes! Don't ask us about the fluorescent tyres - we don't know why...!

The Tour Manager!

Now we are really flying! Here's a couple of shots of our excellent Tour Manager, Jan Combes, the top one at Zermatt, hobnobbing with her fellow TM [was it David? - somebody tell me and I'll edit this post!] The lower picture from Marion Harrison shows her in Paris at Gare de Lyon.

A couple of points to help you: if when posting you want to check how the post looks [so you can correct any typos, or fit in any long words which have been divided], after posting, when the next page appears, click on 'view blog' - you can see how it looks, and if you need to change anything, use the 'back' button on your browser to go back one page, where you can click on the blue 'edit post' , make the corrections [to get a long word to fit, highlight it and then click the 'TT' button at the top and choose 'small'] and then click 'publish' again.
Photos:
Stephen reminded me that if you want to see the original high-quality pictures of which the blog pictures are smaller copies, just double click the pic on the blog. As a default they will load into your bowser, and will probably be too big; save them and view the saved file with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. You can still then zoom in for details, but can view the whole picture fitted to frame as well. Happy posting!

Glacier Express

Another beautiful view from the Glacier Express, I think it was very near to Disentis.

view from Bernina Express

One of many beautiful views from the Bernina Express, not far from Poschiavo.

This was one of many beautiful views from the Glacier Express, taken somewhere between Chur and Disentis.

Red bench seat, Locarno

And here is a picture of the lovely previous contributor on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Locarno. Keep up the postings [it's great!] as we are still only using less than 0.3% of our webspace! If you really want to know about Stephen's Picture of the Nightwatchman, I have attempted a translation in the comments.

Locarno

Not many people visited Locarno so here are some pictures, lots of cloud!

33 Day 7

The 'Last Supper' taken with flash. Apologies for poor quality as my camera is designed for external flash units that I do not (yet) have. Also included both images (32 and 33) as individual expressions sometimes differ. See Paul!

The lake
'steamer' could not turn round at Interlaken and therefore had to reverse in the long channel back to the lake

29 Day 6

Lucky again with scaling. Did not realise there were two bridges until got back to UK.

28 Day 6

Again on journey back from Zermatt. There are still some old bridges.

27 Day 6

On the journey back from Zermatt. This was the only decent picture I managed to get with the train window down. Lucky with vehicle to show scale.

26 Day 6

'Happy' at Gornegrat. When talking to the man in charge I commented that the dog appeared quite old. His reply was "Oh no, this year he had 5 female dogs to keep happy". Large pinch of salt?

25 Day 6
